As a graduate of an HBCU (Historically Black College or University) and alumni member, I have firsthand knowledge and experience in HBCU culture, and have an endearing conviction for the enhancement and going concern of these institutions.
Advocacy can be defined as "public support for or recommendation of a particular cause or policy". We support Group and Citizen Advocacy with aims to influence public opinion that will ultimately empower local community members and leaders to have a voice and make prudent decisions that impact the livelihood of HBCU's. In conjunction with our student-athlete equity efforts, we look to partner with HBCU institutions, students, alumni, and affiliate groups and organizations to fulfill our advocacy endeavors.
Since 2014, The Underdawg has been an advocate of NIL, as it was initially expressed through anti-trust class action lawsuits against the NCAA . We had an opportunity to receive tutelage from a reputable college sports institute years prior to the growth of said lawsuits, grievances, and oppositions from college athletes.
As we support fair and equitable treatment of collegiate student athletes, we look forward to being a player in the NIL sports industry.
